Product Description

Craner Classics are offering this stupendous Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Mk 1. This Silver Shadow was its last owner’s pride and joy for 37 years, more than half his life, and has only come onto the market due to his deceased estate. Displaying just over 35,000 miles it’s a prime candidate for a long-term investment or simply a marvellously well-built car to be enjoyed.

First registered:                19.2.1971
VIN chassis frame no.:    SRH.10249

This Mark 1 Silver Shadow has a deep, all-over shine and looks stunning in its refined blue and silver combination. It comes with stacks of service history, even though it has covered less than 1000 miles for each year of its life.

This particular car was built in 1971 and thus features a 189 hp 6.8-litre V8 powerhouse; these were installed in Shadows from 1970 to 1980, and coupled with a General Motors-sourced Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic gearbox, gives ample acceleration and a reassuringly smooth gearchange.

To quote Wikipedia:

A distinctive feature was a high-pressure hydropneumatic suspension system licensed from Citroën, with dual-circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension. At first, both the front and rear of the car were controlled by the levelling system; the front levelling was deleted in 1969 as it had been determined that the rear levelling did almost all the work. Rolls-Royce attained a high degree of ride quality with this arrangement.

We at Craner Classics seriously doubt there is another Silver Shadow of this quality on the market, certainly at this price point. The coachwork of this Rolls Royce is in superb order, as is the plush cream leather interior. The famed walnut dash is polished to perfection, with no cracks to the dash surface. The rear padded footrests are just one example of the level of luxury and comfort this Silver Shadow offers.

Anything this car has ever required was lavished upon it. The fact that it was recently fitted with brand new tyres and battery is testimony to just how well-maintained it was under the last owner since he purchased it in 1982. This car truly was that gentleman’s pride and joy.

Please call direct on 07806 693 878 for a speedy response, we expect demand to be high for this car.
