This must be the most enchanting Ford Prefect available; great-looking, great performance, and fantastic ride quality.
With its Sky Blue and Cloud White colour combination and all those soft edges and flared rims it harks back to motoring’s glorious 1950s era.
The bumpers have all been rechromed to contribute to the newly-restored look of the car. Yet it will fit in any garage – it’s an ideal classic car that takes up very little space.
This Prefect is a magical, in incredibly fine order, and is colour-coordinated from top to bottom – seats, steering wheel and column, doorcards, sills, whitewall tyres.
The seats, carpet and roof lining are in outstanding condition. A former show-winner and still a show-stopper, the engine bay is just as clean and well-kept as the rest of the car.
The car runs on an 1172cc sidevalve engine, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Together with the lightness of the car the engine performs so well that these Prefects enjoyd great success on the Hot Rod scene. Nevertheless they were quite economical, giving 33mpg. Independent coil suspension at the front enhances ride quality.
This particular Ford Prefect has undergone an engine rebuild, so will continue to perform excellently for many years to come.
But although the mechanical side of the car runs faultlessly, it’s the car’s classic good looks which will appeal to many. A real fun car.
